Fire protection against heat, flames, and hot gases. The Pilkington Pyrostop®  Range is a clear, laminated, fully insulating fire-protection and impact-resistant glass offering the highest levels of fire protection (integrity and insulation), maximizing the available levels of natural light and visibility. Depending on the thickness, it provides impact protection up to Class 1 of BS EN 12600.
Pilkington Pyrostop® is the product to use wherever a complete, physically robust fire protection shield is desired in combination with the high quality through vision and high quality natural lighting typical of normal glazing. The thicker products within the range are based uniquely on LOW-IRON high light transmission glass.
In the event of fire, Pilkington Pyrostop® turns opaque, providing both the integrity requirements of a barrier to hot gases and flames and very effective insulation from the heat of a blaze. As such, Pilkington Pyrostop® complies with the very precise temperature criteria defined in European test standards and ISO test standards.

Application Feature
  • Pilkington Pyrostop® is classified in a EI Class of fire resistant. This glass is designed for maximum protection both in terms of integrity (E) and complete thermal insulation (EI) against radiated heat of 90%. 
  • Pilkington Pyrostop® is ideal for use in transparent fire walls, windows (special application), doors, screens, partitions and façades as well as for horizontal applications (roof and inclined glazing).
  • Blocks radiant heat up to 90%, protecting people and valuables on the non-fire side of the glass where radiant heat transfer might be a concern (average temperature of the unexposed side will be <140 °C and never above 180 °C at one point. 
  • Pilkington Pyrostop® is a clear, laminated glass, where the Alkali silicate is coated with a thin layer of silicon oxide does appear to provide an effective fire retardant material. It can be used for both Exterior & Interior.
